"... Kill steal."
Gwen Morita, titled Alchemical Earth, was the strong, silent member of Team Alchemical. Along with Sally, she was the member of her team who enjoyed fighting the most. She was usually the one to comfort Undine when she got insecure. She died at the end of Chapter 2 due to an enemy attack.
Appearance[]
Gwen was a Japanese-Brazilian girl who had short brown hair, brown eyes, and light brown skin. She was the most heavily built of her team. Her symbol was a green upside-down triangle with a horizontal line on the lower half, the alchemical symbol for earth.
Gwen's magical girl outfit consisted of a headband with a green bow on its middle, earrings of her symbol, and white-and-green gauntlets with green gloves and yellow accents of her symbol. Gwen's dress was mostly green and white with yellow accents. She had a wide, sailor-like triangular green collar, puffy green sleeves, and a green top with yellow accents. Her skirt had two layers. The layer on top was green with thin yellow stripes. The other layer was mostly white with yellow accents and green lace trim. Gwen also wore green boots with yellow trim.
Trivia[]
- Like all members of Team Alchemical, Gwen's name is a reference to her element. Gwen is derived from Gnomes, who are earth elementals, and Morita is a Japanese name meaning "rice field."
- Mary Cagle has said that in hindsight, Naomi would have been a better name for referencing the word gnome.
- Gwen gets straight B's in school.
- Mary has stated that at one point she considered reintroducing Gwen as a golem in the story, but ultimately decided not to.
- She is the only magical girl known so far whose image color and hairstyle color are not unified(Her image color is green, but her hairstyle is brown).
- In addition, Mary Cagle actually painted Gwen with the same image color and hairstyle in her request time(commonly known as Gween).[1]
